Episode 12: Health and saf...what? (updated)

Five reasons to take just a little bit more care when walking around the streets of BA:

0) Today we are basically strongly advised from leaving the office, the airconditioning is off, the windows are shut and the tube system is down. Why? Because theres been a pesticide explosion in one of the ports about a kilometer away, potentially toxic (they dont seem to know yet). How? Because it rained and somehow enough water got into the tank to cause a strong chemical reaction. The smell in the streets is awful! But no-one in the office...seems to care! .The police advised for everyone to go home, but thats also stupid because then you have to go outside, all a bit surreal...

1) This morning wasn't the first time the bus was driving along with the doors open. Add this to the fact that its normally a jerky experience anyway, and I'm fairly certain that before I leave either I'm going flying out the door or someone else is!

2) I once saw a window cleaner balancing precariously on a second floor ledge cleaning a window without a ladder/harness (obviously, otherwise it would be standard). And that's not even saying anything about the bucket of water...

3) The BBQs here ('asado') are generally full of flavour with top quality meat. Unfortunately, you get the taste of every other previous BBQ because the grills are...well...yeahh...

4)Admittedly I´ve already put this one on facebook, but I once tried to take out cash from the local Santander branch and ended up thinking better of it due to the new 'guard'. Lets just say that couple were as scared as they look in the picture and there was noone else inside...
New security measures
